Can I send any player on my roster to the minors or is there a rule about it? I've read the rules a million times but it is not vary clear.
• Players can be freely moved through the minor league systems as long as they fit the guidelines for the league they are in • Players on the ML roster at any point begin with 3 options o Each time a player is sent down from a ML roster, they lose an option Options reset if a player is traded o Once a player is out of options, the can be called up freely, but to be sent down, he must go through waivers for 36 hours
A. You can send a major league player to the minors if he has less than 500 at bats or 150 innings pitched. The player has to be under contract and will remain under contract while on the MiLB roster. The player also has to spend a minimum of 15 days on the major league roster before being sent down. Even with the addition of players that fit this criteria, you cannot exceed the maximum 35 players on the MiLB roster.
