Since I had trouble sleeping and I had started my own power rankings earlier...I finished it tonight!
Note that these are accurate up to today (3-30-2010) player-wise, and that these rankings are based off of ESPN projections. Since there is absolutely no way of projecting a win-loss ratio (since a lot of it is due to luck), these are going to be based off of rotisserie scoring. For those of you unfamiliar with roto it's scoring where everyone plays against everyone. Points are awarded inversely to the team with the highest rank in a stat category gaining as many points as there are participants in the league, and it goes down from there. For example 1st place in a category would earn 16 points, while 10th place in a category will earn only 7 points, and 15th place would earn 2. As there are 16 teams and 12 cats, the highest possible score is a 192 (16x12).
Allow me to get to the results!
1. Tampa Bay Rays (159 pts)
2. Florida Marlins (126 pts)
3. Los Angeles Dodgers (125 pts)
4. Philadelphia Phillies (116 pts)
5. Atlanta Braves (113 pts)
6. Cincinnati Reds (110 pts)
7. Milwaukee Brewers (109 pts)
8. Arizona Diamondbacks (107 pts)
9. Boston Red Sox (101 pts)
10. New York Yankees (98 pts)
11. Colorado Rockies (89 pts)
12. Chicago Cubs (85 pts)
13. St Louis Cardinals (79 pts)
14. Texas Rangers (73 pts)
15. New York Mets (67 pts)
16. Baltimore Orioles (63 pts)
Please no one despair about these rankings. It must be reiterated that this is a H2H league. ANYTHING could happen, so at the end of the season this may not even be close to the end result. This is only according to ESPN projections. I also want to note that this includes every player on each team, some teams have more offensive bench players while others have more pitchers. There IS a limit to how many guys can play each week so that can impact the results as well.
Okay that was fun, time to try to sleep again! Thanks for taking time to read this!
If anybody would like to see the spreadsheet I have all of this down in, let me know and I will email it to you
